– SUMMER COURSES AND CONCERTS

This new event is organized by the initiative of the Krakow Life and Art Foundation and the School of Music in Wieliczka. From August 21-25, 2024, young instrumentalists will have the opportunity to improve their skills under the guidance of eminent figures from the music world. The first edition of the Academy of Inspiration has invited the following pianists: Rosaria Dina Rizzo (Italy), Michele Gioiosa (Italy), Mariusz Sielski, Milena Kędra, Maria Wosiek, clarinetists: Risto Grojevski (North Macedonia), Barbara Borowicz, Paweł Kroczek, flutist Martyna Klupś-Radny, percussionist Bartosz Sałdan, accordionist Wiesław Ochwat, violinist Dr. Aleksandra Kuls-Koziak, violist Aneta Dumanowska, cellist Marcin Mączyński, Kamil Kruk – musical saw, composition. Additionally, for the first time in Poland, classes will be conducted by Farmy Sombutsiri (Thailand), the creator of The Keys family method for children aged 3-7, enabling them to take their first steps in the world of music. Solo and chamber music concerts will also be held in the spaces of the School of Music and other venues in Wieliczka, featuring both the instructors and the course participants, and will be open to public. This initiative aims to encourage creative leisure activities and showcase the diversity of classical music performed by excellent artists. Furthermore, each concert will begin with a spoken introduction providing the audience with insights into the lives of the composers and their musical works.

REGULATION

1. The organizers of the Academy of Inspiration are the Life and Art Foundation and the School of Music in Wieliczka.
2. The artistic director of the Academy of Inspiration is Dr. Barbara Borowicz-Sałdan.
3. The Academy of Inspiration will take place from August 21-25, 2024, at the School of Music in Wieliczka.
4. The music courses are intended for students, graduates, and individuals passionate about playing musical instruments, as well as children aged 3-7 for The Keys Family classes.
5. The Academy of Inspiration offers master classes in the following specialties: piano, flute, clarinet, accordion, percussion, violin, viola, cello, musical saw, chamber music, composition, and The Keys Family – English-language music classes for children aged 3-7.
6. The courses are conducted by distinguished Polish and international educators through individual and group sessions:

7. The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the teaching staff. Participants can enroll in two modes: active and passive (observation of classes).
8. Active participants can take advantage of additional activities offered by the Academy of Inspiration, such as group improvisation, lectures on managing stage stress, and a clarinet choir.
9. After completing the courses, each participant will receive a certificate of participation.
10. Concerts by instructors, soloists, ensembles, and course participants are planned.
11. The organizers reserve the right to audio-video record the concerts and to publish recordings and photos from the courses and concerts on the internet (website/social media), in which the course participants will be involved.
12. The goals of the Academy of Inspiration are:

• To raise the level of musical instrument playing among young people by providing contact with a wide range of outstanding soloists and educators from Poland and abroad,
• To enrich and develop practical skills in both individual and ensemble playing,
• To enable talented young people to present their skills to a wide audience during concerts organized in the Małopolska region.

13. The application deadline is July 15th, 2024.
14. Applications can be submitted exclusively online via the application form available on the Life and Art Foundation’s website under the Academy of Inspiration section. The number of places is limited.
15. Active participation includes:

• 4 lessons of 45 minutes each,
• 2 rehearsals with piano accompanist in case of a performance during the participants’ concert (qualification decided by the instructor)
• Participation in additional activities,
• Free admission to all concerts held as part of the Academy of Inspiration.

16. The Keys Family classes are conducted in the form of individual sessions (2 lessons of 45 minutes each) and group sessions (2 group lessons of 50 minutes each). The maximum number of participants in a group is 10. Parents are encouraged to join their children and explore the magical world of music together through play.
17. The cost of participation in individual master classes is 800 PLN. The cost for chamber ensemble participation is 400 PLN per member. Participation in The Keys Family sessions is 400 PLN. A deposit of 200 PLN must be paid within 7 days of submitting the application to the Life and Art Foundation’s account. The deposit is non-refundable.

18. The remaining amount must be paid into the above-mentioned account in a manner that allows it to be received before August 1, 2024.
19. Participants in the Master Courses are required to provide sheet music for the course instructor and accompanist.
20. The organizer does not provide meals or accommodation. However, a list of accommodation facilities with preferential conditions for participants is available on the website.
21. Participants of the Academy should have insurance covering medical expenses and the consequences of accidents.
22. Participants under the age of 15 must attend the course only under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Other minors over the age of 15 require written consent from their parents or legal guardians. This written consent must be provided to the organizers in its original form before the start of the Academy of Inspiration.
23. The organizer is not responsible for lost personal belongings, money, or documents.
24. Participants and parents or legal guardians (in the case of minors) are financially liable for any damages caused.
25. The participant or their legal guardian (in the case of minors) consents to the processing of personal data. Participants’ data is archived and used by the organizer for organizational and promotional purposes.
26. Any matters not covered in the regulations are resolved by the organizers.
27. The organizers reserve the right to make changes to this regulation and to modify the course program.

About the author and instructor:

Farmy Sombutsiri shaped by a deep love for Classical and Jazz music, discovered her passion for crafting music books for early childhood development at the age of 20. Her teaching curriculums aim to promote and stimulate children’s brains while fostering concentration, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
